Dighton-Rehoboth Regional has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Seekonk Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seekonk took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Dighton-Rehoboth Regional, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional didn't have too much trouble with Case at home as they won 58-41. The win was just what Dighton-Rehoboth Regional needed coming off of a 75-55 loss in their prior game.
Seekonk suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 66-42 loss at the hands of Apponequet Regional. While losing is never fun, Seekonk can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Apponequet Regional is ranked 77th).
Seekonk's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caiden Sears, who scored eight points, and Lucas Pereira who scored six points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Declan Lush, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Dighton-Rehoboth Regional's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Seekonk, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Dighton-Rehoboth Regional came up short against Seekonk when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 68-63. Can Dighton-Rehoboth Regional avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
