Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep girls basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023-24 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Maddie Fitzpatrick of
Cheverus (Portland) is the 2023-24 Maine MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11 senior forward led the Stags to an 18-1 record and Class AA state championship.

A 1,000-point career scorer and two-time state champion, Fitzpatrick recorded four quadruple-doubles this winter. She will continue her career at the University of Maine after signing with Black Bears in November.
