The Hollins Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 31 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Gulf Coast HEAT 78-45 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.
Hollins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Malachi Miller out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Lemons, who scored 19 points.
Despite the loss, Gulf Coast HEAT still got an impressive performance from Westin Lacey, who scored 25 points along with five steals. Lacey scored a full 55.6% of Gulf Coast HEAT's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Steven Scott was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds.
Hollins' victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
