Irvine has gone a perfect 10-0 against University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Vaqueros will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 3:30 p.m. Irvine is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
On Tuesday, Irvine earned an 8-5 win over Woodbridge. That's two games straight that the Vaqueros have won by exactly three runs.
Midori De Los Santos made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. De Los Santos was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Andrea Torres and Harper Vandermolen did most of the damage at the plate: Torres went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Vandermolen went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Torres a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Liu, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Irvine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, University was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They fell just short of Northwood by a score of 3-1.
Carson Cruz - Babson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
Irvine's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Irvine skirted past University 3-1 in their previous matchup on April 7th. Do the Vaqueros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
