The McLean Highlanders will venture away from home to  face off against the Westfield Bulldogs  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
McLean is probably headed into the  match with a chip on their shoulder considering George C. Marshall just ended the team's  three-match winning streak  on Tuesday. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Statesmen.
 McLean came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-22, 22-25,  25-23.

 McLean's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Jose Eslinger, who  had 12  digs, and  Will McGinnis, who  had 15  kills, four  digs,  and three  aces. McGinnis is  on a roll when it comes to  kills, as he's  now  had five or more in each of the last nine games he's  played.
Meanwhile, Westfield can  bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match  on Monday. They walked away with  a   3-1  victory over Chantilly.

 McLean's  defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Westfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
 McLean took their  victory against Westfield  in their previous matchup  back in September of 2024 by a conclusive  3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
