Dinuba waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Reedley Pirates. While the Emperors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Neveah Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dinuba let Cambria Alderete and Hope Diaz run wild. Alderete went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base, while Diaz went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Alderete launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Patterson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
