Alhambra extended their losing streak  to four  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-15 in the process. They lost  20-1 to the Mountain Pointe Pride. As for Mountain Pointe, their victory  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 9-17-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
For Mountain Pointe's part,  Lauryn Chavez was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and not a single walk). That's the most  strikeouts  Chavez has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Makiyah Johnson and  JoJo Castillo did most of the damage at the plate:  Johnson  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  double, while  Castillo  went 3-for-4 with four  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  Johnson a new career-high.  Jasmine Taylor also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Alhambra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Pointe, they will square off against Chaparral at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 6.7  runs per game this season.
