Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cortez). They blew past the St. Mary's Knights 5-2 on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Colts as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cortez's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for St. Mary's, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 1-1-1.

After both having extra time off, Cortez and Washington will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for St. Mary's, they will be taking part in a tournament against Fountain Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
