The Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies lost against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Plymouth was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Tippecanoe Valley. Plymouth has struggled against Tippecanoe Valley recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Plymouth's loss came despite strong showings from Trey Delp and Caleb Bowling. Delp scored 12 points, while Bowling scored 13 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Tippecanoe Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Stephen Akase out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Riley Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Plymouth bumped their record down to 5-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plymouth and Concord will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Concord presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Plymouth in Indiana (Concord is ranked 77th, while Plymouth is ranked 252nd). As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against LaVille at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully LaVille focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
