The Enka Jets will be playing at home against the Tuscola Mountaineers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Enka pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-57 to North Henderson.
Despite the defeat, Enka had strong showings from Sam Waddell, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, and Hyatt Middleton, who scored 17 points. The match was Waddell's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Trantham, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Enka were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Tuscola, who are still winless after their fifth match. Their tough 68-42 defeat to Andrews on Monday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tuscola has scored all season.
Enka now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Tuscola, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Everything went Enka's way against Tuscola in their previous matchup back in January of 2021 as Enka made off with a 71-49 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tuscola's Trent Turner, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Enka to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
