Baseball Recap: Harmon's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Harmon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northeast Vikings a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Hawks have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Eliseo Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Harmon is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-6 otherwise. Hernandez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Harmon let Isai Munoz Machado and Chad Taylor run wild. Munoz Machado got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Taylor got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Harmon is undefeated when Taylor posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jackson Williams, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Harmon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Northeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That lines up perfectly with their 4-14 record this season.

Harmon has already played their next contest, a 5-0 defeat against Van Horn on the 26th. As for Northeast, they will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
