The Springfield Longhorns won the last time they faced the Walsh Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Springfield walked away with a 54-46 win over Walsh.
Leading Springfield to victory were Cooper Stolebarger and Colby Batterton. Stolebarger dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Batterton scored 23 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Batterton has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Mort, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Walsh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cheraw the next time they take the court. Springfield will head out to face Cheraw at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Walsh will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
