Brick Township was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They had to suffer through  a    49-7 loss at the hands of the Brick Memorial Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Green Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Mustangs are ranked 26th).
 Gavin Delgado threw for 60 yards  on only five passes.   Braden Rostek was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and one  TD.  On the ground,  James Hirtes rushed for 36 yards.
 It was another big night for  Jason Lajara, who threw for 201 yards and four  touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in one  score on the ground for Brick Memorial. Lajara's passing game has become a key predictor of the Mustangs' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Nazeer Whittaker, who rushed for 105 yards on only nine carries.
Brick Township now  has a losing record of 3-4. As for Brick Memorial, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season.
 Brick Township will be playing in front of their home fans against Manasquan  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 13.4  points per game  this season, so the Green Dragons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Brick Memorial, they will head out on the road to  take on  Southern Regional  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
