Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Evadale's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

While Evadale put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for West Hardin. The Rebels blew past the Oilers 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cooper Palmer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brett Buckner, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Ramirez, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Evadale hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Evadale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for West Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Evadale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Oilers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
