The Wilde Lake Wildecats are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Magruder Colonels at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th.
Last Thursday, Wilde Lake might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Overlea an easy 74-54 victory.
Meanwhile, Magruder entered their tilt with Gaithersburg with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Magruder pulled ahead with a 53-52 photo finish over Gaithersburg. Given Magruder's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Gaithersburg is ranked 203rd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Magruder's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Dabbondanza, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Dabbondanza posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Wil Dabbondanza, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Wilde Lake now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Magruder, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
