Hazel Park is 8-2 against Center Line since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hazel Park has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Center Line will arrive with three straight victories.
Clawson hit Hazel Park with a 13-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 18-3 to the Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Hazel Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Wilkowski, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Wilkowski is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Austin Small was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Center Line). They put the hurt on Fitzgerald with a sharp 19-2 win on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Ayden Hertz was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Hunter Hughes was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Fizia, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Center Line kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.
Center Line's record now sits at 4-10. As for Hazel Park, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Hazel Park was able to grind out a solid win over Center Line in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 11-7. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
