Softball Recap: Bushland Has No Trouble Against Canadian

Bushland won the last time they faced Canadian and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 22-3 win. Considering the Falcons have won nine matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Farryn McKown made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Charley Spinks was incredible, firing off four home runs, 11 RBI, and five runs while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayney Snelson, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5.

Bushland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Bushland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Canadian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Looking ahead, Bushland will square off against Childress at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Canadian, they will take on Dalhart at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
