The Eaglecrest Raptors have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were the victim of a tough 46-21 loss at the hands of Cherry Creek on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eaglecrest has scored all season.
Several Raptors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Danivea Hughes, who scored five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Eaglecrest struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leading Cherry Creek to victory were Molly Dorighi and Tianna Chambers. Dorighi scored ten points along with four steals, while Chambers scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was A'neya Chambers, who scored six points.
Eaglecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Cherry Creek, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Eaglecrest will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Arapahoe is ranked 23rd, while the Raptors are ranked 42nd). As for Cherry Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Grandview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
