The Immokalee Indians had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over Island Coast. Immokalee's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.
Island Coast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Curry, who scored 11 points. Curry scored a full 36.7% of Island Coast's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janeze St. Fort, who scored 8 points.
Immokalee's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Island Coast, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immokalee will take on Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aubrey Rogers presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Immokalee in Florida (Aubrey Rogers is ranked 106th, while Immokalee is ranked 482nd). As for Island Coast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunbar at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
