The Douglas County Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the Legend Titans at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Douglas County has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Douglas County's last matchup with Regis Jesuit could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Huskies lost 17-4 to the Raiders. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Bricen Moore made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Max VanDeWalker, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Legend might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-1 to Mountain Vista, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Legend also got a good showing from Tyler Houston, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave Houston a new career-low in walks (zero).
On the hitting side, Talan Borcherding was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
The defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 9-6. As for Legend, their record now sits at 8-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Douglas County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Legend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Douglas County skirted past Legend 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
