Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Camarillo's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Camarillo never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Oak Park Eagles with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Scorpions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Camarillo's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Janelle Rillo-Figueroa, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another was Laynee Flores, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Rillo-Figueroa wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Camarillo lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Park didn't launched any home runs.

Camarillo is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Oak Park, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Coincidentally, Camarillo and Oak Park will both be playing Royal the next time they take the field. The Scorpions will head out to face the Highlanders at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
