The Appalachian Christian Trailblazers will be playing at home against the Redeemer Classical Griffins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Appalachian Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 75-59 bruising from Ridgeview Christian. Even though they lost, Appalachian Christian's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the defeat, Appalachian Christian saw an underclassman step up: Blake Waldron scored 29 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Duff, who scored 18 points.
Redeemer Classical kicked off their season on the road two weeks ago and hit a couple of potholes. They took a serious blow against Blue Ridge Christian, falling 61-20. Redeemer Classical was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
The losses dropped Appalachian Christian to 0-3 and Ridgeview Christian to 1-3.
Appalachian Christian came up short against Redeemer Classical in their previous matchup back in January, falling 47-43. Can Appalachian Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
