After a string of three wins, the Founders Classical Academy Hoplites's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Annapolis Christian Academy 34-30. Founders Classical Academy found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 20 to 13 on offense.
Several Hoplites players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jade Reynolds, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Reynolds is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Hammond, who scored six points along with four steals.
Annapolis Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Genesis Lopez out in front who scored eight points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Stice, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Founders Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9.
Founders Classical Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Annapolis Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bloomington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bloomington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday.
