Basketball Recap: Ray Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cicero Prep Academy

Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 44-28 to the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions. One positive for the Bearcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Cicero Prep Academy to victory were Kira Myers and Ryleigh Weaver. Myers almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine steals, while Weaver almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals. Weaver has become a key player for Cicero Prep Academy: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Catherine Johnson, who posted six points and seven boards.

Ray's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Cicero Prep Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

When Ray and Cicero Prep Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Ray will try to stop Baboquivari's six-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cicero Prep Academy will try to stop Hayden's five-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
