Softball Recap: Leakey Has No Trouble Against D'hanis

Leakey lost a heartbreaker the last time they played D'Hanis, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 15-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won 14 matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Katie Salazar and Hayden Rimkus did most of the damage at the plate: Salazar went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Rimkus went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Rimkus has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kourtney Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Leakey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher in three consecutive games.

Leakey's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-13-1. As for D'Hanis, they moved to 7-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Leakey nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
