It's playoff time, and American Prep WV had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Water Canyon Wildcats with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 67-48. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Marcus Versluis was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Chris Monroy was another key player, going 5-for-8 en route to 13 points and three steals.

American Prep WV smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

American Prep WV pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points over those games. As for Water Canyon, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, American Prep WV is taking a road trip to face off against Merit Preparatory Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. American Prep WV knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Merit Preparatory Academy likes a good challenge. Water Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
