This season hasn't been kind to the Southern Wake Academy Lions, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were beaten by Clover Garden School 61-12 on Friday. Southern Wake Academy has not had much luck with Clover Garden School recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southern Wake Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Clover Garden School pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Clover Garden School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emery Kate Webster out in front who scored 15 points along with six steals. The contest was Webster's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Hanna Tickle, who scored 14 points along with six steals.
Southern Wake Academy bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Clover Garden School, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing River Mill the next time they take the court. Clover Garden School will head out to face River Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Southern Wake Academy will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
