North Paulding's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calvin Scott led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. North Paulding also got a significant boost from Jayden Clayton, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.
Despite the loss, Marietta had strong showings from Russell Bey, who gained 133 total yards, and Chase McCravy, who rushed for 99 yards on only six carries. McCravy really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.
North Paulding's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Marietta, their loss was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 3-7.
North Paulding will take on East Coweta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (East Coweta is ranked 50th, while North Paulding is ranked 36th). As for Marietta, they will head out on the road to face off against Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
