Even though the Eastside Rams have not done well against the Santa Fe Raiders recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Eastside rang in the new year with a 53-42 victory over Santa Fe. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastside.
Eastside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quashawn Brittingham out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Brittingham's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Davion Pugh, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Eastside's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Santa Fe, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-7 record last season and are now at 4-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will take on Raines at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Raines is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Santa Fe won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fort White at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Fort White presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Fe in Florida (Fort White is ranked 110th, while Santa Fe is ranked 414th).
