Glacier is a perfect 10-0 against Flathead since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolfpack will host the Braves at 5:00 p.m. Glacier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
Glacier is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Big Sky, who was ranked eighth at the time (Glacier was ranked sixth). The Wolfpack never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. The Wolfpack haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Glacier's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Frederick, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Glacier hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flathead). They blew past Columbia Falls 19-9 on Thursday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Flathead got a massive performance out of Reese Rosenberg, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave Rosenberg a new career-high in RBI (three). Tegan Strauss was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
Glacier's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Flathead, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Flathead's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glacier has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. It's a different story for Flathead, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Glacier's hitters?
Glacier got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Flathead by a conclusive 11-5 score. Do the Wolfpack have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
