Volleyball Recap: Padua Franciscan Comes Up Short

The Padua Franciscan Bruins didn't have quite enough to beat the Anthony Wayne Generals on Friday and fell 2-1. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Padua Franciscan lost, don't look at Giulia Reginelli. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and three assists. Reginelli is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Anthony Wayne was led to victory by Alayna Rieger and Jessie Kennelly. Rieger had 25 assists and five digs, while Kennelly had 15 digs and four assists.

Padua Franciscan now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Anthony Wayne, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Padua Franciscan and Anthony Wayne will both be playing Mount Notre Dame the next time they take the court. The Bruins will head out to face Mount Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Generals will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
