The Arlington Eagles had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They snuck past Shorewood with a 71-66 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leyton Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 34 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bill Kooy, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Arlington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Shorewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will take on the Bearcats at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shorewood, they will be playing at home against the Bruins at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Cascade is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
