The Avon Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holbrook. Avon was down 39-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Avon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Uwa Idada, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Idada pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hanelie Cadet, who scored 15 points.
Avon's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Holbrook, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Avon will look to defend their home court on Monday against Diman RVT at 5:00 p.m. Holbrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
