The Greater Vision Academy Lions stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Everything went their way against Gospel Light Christian as Greater Vision Academy made off with a 64-43 victory. The victory was nothing new for Greater Vision Academy as they're now sitting on five straight.
Greater Vision Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Titus Tucker, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Johntez Raspberry was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Gospel Light Christian had strong showings from Drake Walker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Samuel Sisk, who scored 15 points. Walker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Skipper, who scored six points.
Greater Vision Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Gospel Light Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greater Vision Academy will challenge Lee Park Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lee Park Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. Gospel Light Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. One thing working in Triad Baptist Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
