The Monticello Buckaroo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Monument Valley at home and fell 62-23. Monticello has struggled against Monument Valley recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Monument Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shikeeya Hudson out in front who scored 18 points. Shimequa Hudson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Monument Valley, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will take on Dove Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dove Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. As for Monument Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Mesa will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 190th in Arizona, while Monument Valley is ranked 28th in Utah).
