The Sturgeon Bay Clippers are taking a road trip to face off against the Marinette Marines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Sturgeon Bay beat Mishicot 5-1. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Bryce Plzak and Ethan Kratcha made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Plzak tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kratcha pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Plzak went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Kratcha went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Patrick Haese was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Marinette hadn't done well against Freedom recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Marines came out on top against the Irish by a score of 7-2.
Justin Kruse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Levi Hanson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase MacGregor, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Sturgeon Bay pushed their record up to 10-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Marinette, their record is now 12-9.
Sturgeon Bay took their victory against Marinette in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 16-9 score. Do the Clippers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
