Staples is 7-2 against Norwalk since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Staples Wreckers will get right back to it and host the Norwalk Bears at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Staples is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Norwalk in Connecticut (Staples is ranked tenth, while Norwalk is ranked 54th).
Staples pushed their score all the way to 59 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-59 to St. Bernard.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mason Tobias, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Sam Clachko was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Norwalk waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 53-43 victory over New Canaan. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Norwalk has scored all season.
Staples' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Norwalk, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Staples beat Norwalk 69-58 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Staples have another victory up their sleeve, or will Norwalk turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
