The Tehachapi Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the South Spartans at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Tehachapi is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Tehachapi came up short against Golden Valley on Thursday, falling 10-4. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, South entered their tilt with North on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Stars with a sharp 14-4 win. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly ten runs.
Sienna Lopez and Scarlett Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lopez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Scarlett pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Sienna has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Lopez went 3-for-5 with four runs, one double, and one RBI, while Scarlett went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most runs Sienna has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kloie Wetmore, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zowey Estrada, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI.
South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 13 consecutive games.
South's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Tehachapi, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
