Softball Recap: Switzerland County Has No Trouble Against Southwestern

With a playoff win on the line, Switzerland County rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Southwestern Rebels as they made off with a 14-4 win. The Pacers haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alayna Smith and Regan Beard did most of the damage at the plate: Smith got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Beard went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave Beard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayley Adams, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Switzerland County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Switzerland County's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Southwestern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Switzerland County will challenge Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pacers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. Southwestern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
