Roncalli had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Southwestern. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 on Saturday.

Roncalli gave Dane Burton the start and clearly made the right call: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Collin Ash and Gio Ardizzone did most of the damage at the plate: Ash went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Ardizzone went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Ardizzone has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Roeder, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Roncalli was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Roncalli's record is now 3-1. As for Southwestern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Roncalli will head out to challenge Columbus North at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bull Dogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Southwestern, they will be playing at home against Shawe Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
