Frankton let Jarrett Morris and Caine Oakley run wild. Morris went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Oakley got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Morris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jones, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Frankton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.
Mississinewa came out on top against Leo on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Indians sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over the Lions.
Leyton Stearns was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jasper Baledge, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Frankton pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Mississinewa, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Mississinewa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Frankton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. It's a different story for Mississinewa, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain Frankton's hitters?
