Southington and the River Hawks are an even 5-5 against one another  since January of 2016, but  not for long. The Southington Blue Knights will head out on the road to  face off against  the Farmington River Hawks at 6:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Hopefully Southington focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
 Last Friday, it was a hard-fought  matchup, but Southington had to settle for a  41-39 defeat against the Rams.
 Southington's  defeat came about despite a quality game from  Lily Cooper, who  scored 16 points along with four  steals and two  blocks. It was the first time this season that  Cooper  posted two or more  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Katie Doherty, who  scored six points along with two  steals.
 Meanwhile,  even though Rocky Hill scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Farmington still came out on top. Farmington snuck past the Terriers with a  65-61 win.
 Southington has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Farmington, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
 Southington strolled past the River Hawks when the teams last played  back in January of 2023 by a score of  48-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southington since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
