Tuslaw is 8-2 against Fairless since September of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will square off against the Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Tuslaw will be strutting in after a victory while Fairless will be coming in after a loss.
Tuslaw will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Waynedale, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Golden Bears on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their five-match losing streak.
Tuslaw had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-21, 25-20.
Among those leading the charge was Tess ODonnell, who had 13 digs and one assist.
Meanwhile, Fairless unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Marlington, falling 3-0.
Fairless was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Marlington work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 25-13.
Fairless' defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Tuslaw, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Tuslaw has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Fairless struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Tuslaw couldn't quite get it done against Fairless in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Falcons' Morgan Burdge, who had ten digs and five aces. Now that the Mustangs know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
