Rylan White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
White wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Happ, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Happ has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Kaden White also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Okaw Valley on Wednesday as they made off with a 14-4 win.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond let Will Hilligoss and Calahan Binion run wild. Hilligoss went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Binion went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kody Burdick was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their record is now 4-10.
Heritage might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
