The Lewis County Minutemen will square off against the Morgantown Mohigans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lewis County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Lewis County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bridgeport on Saturday as they made off with a 22-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Minutemen, who have now won four games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ashley Crook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Courtney Boggs was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Smith, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lewis County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Morgantown faced Washington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mohigans came up short against the Patriots, falling 7-0. The Mohigans' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Morgantown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ANNE ROBINSON, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Morgantown's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Lewis County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Lewis County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Morgantown struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
