After both having extra time off, the Suffield Academy Tigers and the Holy Child Gryphons will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Suffield Academy took care of business in their home opener on December 6th. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over Greens Farms Academy.
Meanwhile, Holy Child scored the most points they've had all season to find success on December 16th. They blew past Winsor 66-44. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Holy Child has managed all season.
Sophia Concepcion and Sofia Verlezza were among the main playmakers for Holy Child as the former scored 19 points and the latter scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Concepcion scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessia Paladino, who scored eight points.
Suffield Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Holy Child, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
