Avocado - West recap Nov. 7, 2012
Oceanside extended the longest winning streak in Avocado - West this week by beating El Camino, 34-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Oceanside's dynamic duo of Israel Paopao and Mikah Holder proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Paopao threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns and Holder had 104 yards receiving. T.K. Dodds helped Oceanside's passing attack out by catching three balls for 51 yards.
Shawn Cameron was the most productive running back in the league this week. In seven carries, he ran for 165 yards as Carlsbad beat El Camino. Teammate Aaryn Dorsett added to the ground attack by rushing for 84 yards.
The Pirates' Paopao and Holder have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Paopao has thrown for 2074 yards this season, while Holder, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 34 catches for 700 yards. Cameron from the Lancers leads the league in rushing with 1144 yards.
Carlsbad led Avocado - West in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Vista. Christian Chapman threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns and ran for eight yards in the win.
