The Hillcrest Huskies will take on the Brighton Bengals at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillcrest has eight straight wins, Brighton has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Hillcrest took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Stansbury, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies won by a run and slipped past the Stallions 10-9.

Hillcrest got a massive performance out of Adrie Sullivan, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Sullivan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Savil Hughes, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Brighton fell victim to East and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Leopards, falling 12-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bengals have suffered against the Leopards since May 5, 2022.
Hillcrest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Brighton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hillcrest has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .457. However, it's not like Brighton struggles in that department as they've averaged .437. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Hillcrest's way against Brighton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Hillcrest made off with a 6-0 victory. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bengals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
