The Bonner Springs Braves posted their closest win yet this season on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Wamego out 45-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bonner Springs also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2021.
Bonner Springs found their leader in underclassman Jackson Nez, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Rolfe jr., who scored nine points.
Bonner Springs is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Wamego, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Bonner Springs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Turner at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Turner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Bonner Springs is ranked 101st). As for Wamego, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Louisburg at 7:30 p.m. Louisburg is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
