The Rogers City Hurons lost against the Hillman Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The matchup between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Rogers City falling 68-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Hillman: they've now lost five in a row.
Trenton Taratuta was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 13 rebounds for Hillman. That makes it six consecutive games in which Taratuta has scored at least 25% of Hillman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Rouleau, who scored 11 points along with seven steals.
Rogers City bumped their record down to 1-3 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hillman, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Rogers City will be home for the holidays to greet Onaway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Onaway's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Hillman will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Ogemaw Heights at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th.
